First Annual Radford River Fest

Join the City of Radford for the first ever Radford River Fest on August 11th in Bisset Park for a full day of activities and fun. There will be live bluegrass music, a corn hole tournament, horseshoe tournament, the Lucky Duck Race, 5K, and a whole lot more. Food including BBQ, a beverage garden, kid’s activities will also be available.
They will be holding a Riverway 5K event in which the proceeds will go to benefit the American Heart Association. The 5K (beginning at 8:30 am) and Fun Run course (beginning at 9:30 am) will circle Bisset Park on the footpaths. An awards ceremony and drawings for door prizes will follow the race. Results will be posted at the Blacksburg Striders website and also on runaboutsports.com.

The schedule for a full day of fun after the races:
Corn Hole Tournament: 10 am
Horseshoe Tournament: 11 am
Bluegrass Music: 12-6 pm
Lucky Duck Race: 3 pm
The 1st Annual Corn Hole Tournament will be held at 10 am. Entry fees are $15 per team for pre-registration by July 15th and $20 per team on the day of the event.
The 3rd Annual Horseshoe Tournament will be held at 11 am. Entry fees are $15 per team for pre-registration by July 15th and $20 per team on the day of the event. All age levels are welcome to participate.
The Lucky Duck Race will be held at 3 pm and all proceeds benefit the Radford Noon Rotary Scholarship Fund and presented by the Radford Visitor’s Center. You can cheer on your duck along the banks of the New River at Shelter #1 in Bisset Park.
Ducks are available for purchase for $5 a piece or $20 for a flock of 5. Tickets are available at the Radford Visitor’s Center, Radford Chamber of Commerce and from Radford Noon Rotarian members.
Prizes are $250 for first place, $100 for second place and $75 for third place. You do not need to be present to win.
